Due to breakage with glass bottles, this material has historically been a challenge for recycling companies. Recently, Rumpke Recycling constructed a facility in Dayton, Ohio to process mixed broken cullet (glass) suitable for use in the fiberglass industry. Rumpke Recycling received funding from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for this project, which has produced very successful results.
In addition to this process, Rumpke Recycling also processes glass by color and ships to end users in the re-manufacture of glass bottles. Rumpke Recycling continues to incorporate innovative recycling programs to provide the most cost-effective method of processing and shipping recyclable materials to end users.
